In 1985 John Taylor and Herb Williams spotted Löwchen for the first time at Crufts’ Dog Show in London. It was love at first sight. Soon after, their first Löwchen, Lucia, arrived from Leslie Healey in San Angelo, Texas. It was obvious immediately that one Löwchen was not going to be enough and George, Hanovarian Boughton By Zeus, soon arrived from Anne MacDonald’s kennel in Faversham, England. Thus began the TayWil love of Löwchen. We have been most fortunate to have the guidance of two of the most knowledgeable breeders of Löwchen in the world. First by Anne MacDonald and for the last 10 years, Janet Perret-Green has provided insight into Löwchen from her 30 years of breeding and showing. Janet has not only guided us but has allowed us to have some of her most valuable breeding stock. Our dogs are part of our family and all reside within our house. Watching television in the evenings will find Löwchen in every lap, at each foot and on the couch. Puppies are socialized from the very beginning of their lives with a Bio-Sensor stimulation program started on the third day after their birth. All our Löwchen are given CERF eye tests yearly at the Virginia & Maryland School of Veterinary Medicine. Special thanks to Pam Fuller, our professional "critter sitter", without whom dogs shows and other trips would not be possible. Our pride of Lions reside in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia and can be reached by phone at 540.377.2750. |
